HAWA’s Community Closet officially opened to the public June 2017, as a resource to provide low-income families with clothing and house hold needs, to support the lively hood of families in the Southeast Asian community.
We receive donations from community members and other SEA families on a monthly basis, to continuously supply our Community Closet. Organized and fully run by HAWA staff and volunteers, we hope to be able to maintain this resource for families in need. Our Community Closet is open to the community. We are open Monday through Friday, 9:00AM — 4:00PM at 3030 W. Highland Blvd.
Please call or email our office at 414-930-9352 or [email protected] to schedule your appointment or drop off. |

2025 Community Partnership Opportunity
Did you know? Last year, our Community Closet supported over 300 appointments for families and DV/SA victims and survivors by providing essentials from adult and baby hygiene to clothing and houseware items. To maintain the effectiveness of our closet, we need your help in partnering with us to host a one-time donation drive in 2025 for our targeted high need items. We are looking for committed individuals, groups, and/or organizations to help sustain our Community Closet. Interested or want to learn more? Click here.
Miss Grand Hmong Court 2025We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Miss Grand Hmong Court 2025—Samantha Xiong, Lilly Vang, and Juliya Yang—and to our incredible community for your generous donations! They donated a total of 2481 items to our Community Closet!
Based in Madison, Wisconsin, the Miss Grand Hmong pageant selects a new court each year to uplift and empower Hmong women—to lead, to inspire positive change, to promote healthy living, and to advocate for peace, harmony, and freedom for future generations. This year, the court is using their platform to address mental health inequities in our community by promoting inclusive, holistic wellness that embraces diversity. We are deeply honored to be a part of their powerful mini-project series, “Hlub Peb Cov Ntxhais”--Love Our Daughters—a message that calls us to protect, cherish, and uplift our daughters so their lives may flourish without limits. Because the world changes when we love the women and girls who are changing it. |

Your kindness and contributions make a lasting impact, and we are truly in awe of the difference you’ve made. Thank you for standing with us in creating hope and healing for those who need it most! |
Adventist Christian Fellowship (ACF) at UW-MilwaukeeIn 2024, this on-campus student organization is more than just a campus ministry—it's a vibrant community of faith, hope, and service. With over a hundred chapters, their mission is to build Christian fellowship, engage in mission, and empower students to share the love of Christ. They also provide opportunities to make a meaningful difference in the community through their local church, Milwaukee SDA Central, partnership.

Milwaukee Diaper MissionMeet our partner, the Milwaukee Diaper Mission! HAWA has secured a partnership with the MDM for receiving diapers and period products for our community closet. We cannot thank them enough.
The MDM is a non-profit volunteer run organization that aims to empower families in need by providing a reliable source of free diapers and period products. Their vision is to raise awareness of the basic needs of the families we serve and to eliminate diaper needs and period poverty in Milwaukee. They partner directly with social service agencies, and HAWA was fortunate to be added on their partner list in June 2022. |
