Youth Programs

Recognizing the diverse needs of our youth, HAWA has coordinated a line-up of Southeast Asian Youth programs that focuses on empowering leadership in youth through community organizing and involvement.

Come and join our HAWA fam as we introduce our new Youth Space for the first time! This space is dedicated to centering the voices of young girls and helping build healthy sisterhood. Food, snacks, and activities will be provided by HAWA!

This Open House event is strictly for Hmong and Southeast Asian girls (ages 12-17) in Milwaukee, WI.

Our Sisters’ Story: Big Sisters is a youth program for young Southeast Asian women ages 17-20 years old in Milwaukee. The program aims to address healing by bringing light to the injustices that women, girls, and queer fem folks face through story sharing, building sisterhood, and self love. Additionally this program strives to create a new world that is free from violence against women, girls, and queer fem folks through empowerment, necessary life skills, and leadership. Click here to view our infographic.

Kid’s Corner is for children under the age of 12. Our sessions are provided for children with the opportunities to build healthy relationships with other individuals in a safe, culturally sensitive environment that encourage personal and social growth, arts and crafts, and homework help during the school year.

Our physical office locations have closed in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, HAWA's advocacy services still remain available. Click here for more information.
