The Hmong Family Strengthening Helpline provides support, contact, and referrals to anyone—regardless of gender and age— who is residing in Wisconsin and experiencing violence and abuse. We are also an excellent source for individuals who are concerned that a loved one is experiencing abuse and violence.

Trained bilingual Hmong- and English-speaking staff are available to assist you in situations related to family violence and abuse by providing intervention, counseling services, support services, and referrals/ linkage to community resources in your respective area(s). All services rendered are free and secure. Your safety is our priority; all calls are completely confidential. Reach out for help and support when you don’t know where else to turn. No names. No judgment.

  • Calls are confidential and anonymous
  • We provide referrals to agencies closest to victims’ location who can assist them.
  • Answered by a bilingual Hmong-speaking person to assist victims

COMMUNITY CLOSET

HAWA’s Community Closet officially opened to the public June 2017, as a resource to provide low-income families with clothing and house hold needs, to support the lively hood of families in the Southeast Asian community. We receive donations from community members and other SEA families on a monthly basis, to continuously supply our Community Closet. Organized and fully run by HAWA staff and volunteers, we hope to be able to maintain this resource for families in need.

Our Community Closet is NOW OPEN to the community. We are open Monday through Friday, 9:00AM — 4:00PM at 3030 W. Highland Blvd.

In Need of Training?

If you or your organization is interested in having HAWA facilitate training for your staff or working group, please contact Tammie Xiong at tammie@hawamke.org for more information.
